A mobile phone co-developed by Fujitsu and NTT Docomo for the Taiwanese market allows users to view and input traditional Chinese characters, the standard writing system in Taiwan.

According to Fujitsu, this enables access to Far EasTone Telecommunications' i-mode mobile Internet service in the local language.

Fujitsu and NTT Docomo localized this mobile phone for the Taiwanese market based on the freedom of mobile multimedia access (FOMA) F905i model sold in Japan.

The new handset was launched under the model name F905i in Taiwan by Far EasTone Telecommunications.

The F905i offers several features, including:

  • A 3.2-inch full-wide video graphics array (VGA) two-position display.

  • A 3.2 megapixel camera.

  • Fujitsu's proprietary technologies for sound and voice reproduction at 30% slower speed for comprehension.
