Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe (FME) announced the availability of a FreeRTOS.org port on its 16FX and FR MB91460 series microcontrollers (MCUs).
FreeRTOS.org is a portable, open source, mini real-time kernel that is free to use, even in commercial applications.
OpenRTOS is available from Wittenstein systems and offers the benefits of FreeRTOS.org under a commercial license.
Safety-critical applications can also be supported with the Wittenstein SafeRTOS, an International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 61508 Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3 compliant tool based on FreeRTOS.org that can be used in a range of safety and commercially critical applications.
FreeRTOS.org can be downloaded from http://www.FreeRTOS.org. The new port is included in FreeRTOS.org V4.7.2 and will be maintained in subsequent releases.
All products are backed by development and support services including a preconfigured example application demonstrating the kernel features. Free support is provided by a user community. Commercial support along with a development service is also provided.
The Fujitsu 16FX and FR MB91460 series MCUs with a FreeRTOS.org port are now available.
